Many people complain about body supports that come with Stagg, especially the rest for the left hand. Threads are too tight and yet, the tightened end of wire can still rotate, rendering supports pretty useless. This was the first thing I had to upgrade on the instrument itself. Below you will see the solution that I found on the web - full credit goes to the fellow who put together this page. Except I did not want to drill extra holes in the bass body, and I've also modified the end that rests on the abdomen - this is elongated pad made from the oak bar (a former plank of hardwood floor) painted black. A wing nut clamping around end pieces, when tightened, makes exceptionally rigid arm. When I seat on the high bar stool (that's how i play), the instrument conveniently rests on my abdomen and left leg such that I don't have to hold it in upright position at all. I'm very pleased with the outcome of this mod, it looks, feels and works as a well designed stock support should have been. In collapsed "parked" position it rests along the body such that Stagg fits in its gig bag with it, no issues.
